The most spectacular concept cars now stand a better chance of being made
When an automaker unveils a concept car, it’s usually a chance to talk about its own brand and focus on the car’s special, unique future.

So lately, when automakers announce their concept cars, why have they spent so much time talking about … Tesla?
This year alone, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi, among others, have hinted at, whispered about, or full-on introduced all-electric conceptual models they say are meant to tackle the exceptional Tesla Model S head-on.
There are a few reasons for this.
For one, Tesla has the best buzz of any auto brand. Elon Musk’s rabble-rousing company carries the eco-friendly sheen of the future, and other automakers hope to catch some of that reflected glory. But when it comes down to it, it’s the government that’s had a huge hand in sparking this habit.
New 2016 Renault Scenic spotted testing for the first time
Renault’s Citroen C4 Picasso rival has been seen in disguise, ahead of late 2016 reveal
Renault is making up for the UK not getting the new Espace by preparing a sexier new Scenic MPV, and we’ve spotted it out on the road for the first time. It’ll be revealed at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and go on sale later next year.
Earlier this month, Auto Express exclusively revealed details on the upcoming Scenic and Grand Scenic, which the firm told us will “make parents fall in love again”.
These first spy shots show that the new car will have a similar design language to the Kadjar crossover and new Megane. Like the latest raft of Renault models, there's a large shapely grill which dominates the front of the car, featuring the now-familiar oversized Renault diamond badge.

There's an Ultra-Rare Lotus 340R in Florida and Someone Needs to Buy It
Based on a Lotus Elise, and weighing less than 1,500 lbs, this could be your ultimate track day toy.
Based on the Lotus Elise, the 340R gets its name from the limited run of 340 examples Lotus produced. It didn't get more power than the Elise, but fanatical devotion to lightness got the weight down to a little under 1,500 pounds. That made it light, fast, and perfect for the track.
Despite not originally being sold in the United States, this one is up for sale on Ebay right now in Florida. The asking price is a stiff $75,000, but the owner is accepting offers. Yes, it's right hand drive, and no, we don't think there's a reliable way to register it in the U.S. But if you're in the market for a dedicated track day car, we're sure you can get used to shifting with your other hand.
